At their meeting on Thursday, December 18, Town of Washington Board members discussed a request for the installation of streetlights from a resident who lives on Whitetail Drive. For a variety of reasons, the board ultimately decided against the proposal.

The Town of Washington Board moved to accept appointments to fill two open positions at the recommendation of Town Administrator Micheal Peterson at their meeting on Thursday, December 4.
The board appointed Janelle Henning to replace Peterson as town administrator in April.

The Town of Washington Board addressed the ongoing process of restructuring staff positions and organizational hierarchy once more at their meeting on Thursday, November 20. While much has been finalized, members of the board recognized the need to find potential candidates for available positions. Specifically, board members were asked to consider the consolidation of the clerk/treasurer position and the administrator position into one.

Members discussed their recollections of the election at the Town of Washington Board meeting on Thursday, November 6. Many expressed positive opinions about the process as well as how workers handled the surprising flood of early voters. Others voiced concerns about how absentee ballots will be counted in the future.

Discussion at the Town of Washington’s regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, October 2 was largely dominated by a public hearing regarding a request for rezoning of a parcel of land along Markgraff Road. The request, made by Harvey Hite, would allow him to sell a portion of his land for residential use.
