Following an appearance in the Northwoods League championship series in 2007, the 2008 season for the Eau Claire Express might look like a disappointment to some.

The Eau Claire Express entered their game against the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Sunday, July 20, hoping to extend their winning streak to a franchise-best six games. The streak began on Thursday, July 10, when they defeated the La Crosse Loggers 6-2 in La Crosse. The Express then swept a two-game series against the Brainerd Blue Thunder. This week, the Express were scheduled to play four games against the Waterloo Bucks as well as two games against the Bullfrogs. Despite a record-setting performance by Joe Bonfe, the Express (7-6 second half, 22-24 overall) were unable to extend their streak beyond the current record.

The Eau Claire Express entered the all-star break Sunday with a 19-23 record. From Wednesday, July 9, to Saturday, July 12, the Express played four games, winning three, against the La Crosse Loggers and the Brainerd Blue Thunder.
